About

In mid–2011, David Rothwell of the Amputee Association and Deb Roach talked about how, as a lower limb amputee, he experiences tremendous difficulty using his prosthesis due to a lack of ongoing gait training, and he wanted to experience better physical function. He described the horrible experiences he had suffered trying to train at a local, public gym and he longed for a place to go, a place that was focused on meeting his needs, somewhere without intimidation or exclusion. And he knew Deb could help make it a reality…

A dream was born.

We want to deliver the Accessible Wellness Project: A consultative process kicks off each individual’s tailored journey to wellness and improved quality of life, including goal setting and agreement on the measures for quantifying and qualifying real and tangible results. The process will consist of regular physical activity and mindset sessions may also be appropriate – each case is different. There is no one sized fits all in the Accessible World.

It’s time for you to get involved.
